Is an Italian comic book artist and advertising illustrator. Birago Balzano was trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. Then at the Istituto Cimabue d'arte e cultura.

He is notably known for the characters of (Zora in Italian) and her friend, Frau Murder. Birago Balzano made his debut (1963) by illustrating certain parts of the adventures of Captain Audax, at Corno Editions. He also worked for Cepim and Casa Araldo editions with Il Piccolo Ranger (from 1968 to 1973) and at Edifumetto: Captain Miki or A young man in the far west. However, his most famous character remains (1972), whose erotic adventures were picked up in France by and were very successful in the 1970s and 1980s. They were also adapted into a film (2000).
