Creator of bindings, jewelry, and decorative art objects, Victor Prouvé was one of the greatest artists of the Nancy Art Nouveau School. A valued collaborator of Louis Majorelle and Émile Gallé, he became president of the École de Nancy upon Gallé’s death in 1904. Like one of his most famous works, titled “The Joy of Living,” his creations celebrate happiness, sensuality, and family life. His son was the architect Jean Prouvé.
