This is original comic art page no. 1 from “La Pyramide oubliée” (The Forgotten Pyramid), published in Circus issue no. This page does not appear in the original comic book.
The final panel has come unstuck, revealing an earlier version underneath that was never published. Both panels need to be reattached to the page. The title at the top left is missing, but the name Winninger is visible.
Pierre Wininger, born in 1950, began his career in comics in 1976.
His work appeared in Charlie Hebdo and Circus (“Victor Billetdoux”). In 1979, he created “Le Jardin sanglant” (The Bloody Garden), written by Henri Filippini, for Pilote. It was later published as an album by Dargaud.
He then created “Nicéphore Vaucanson” for Okapi.
From 1987 onwards, Wininger, who was also a children’s illustrator, devoted himself to adapting numerous novels for Je Bouquine.
He illustrated works by Oscar Wilde, Conan Doyle, Calvino, Carroll, Balzac, Faulkner, Shelley, Stevenson, Saint-Exupéry, Du Maurier, Charlotte Brontë, and others.
Beautiful original comic art page from “La Pyramide oubliée” (The Forgotten Pyramid), 1978, by Pierre de Winninger.
