In 1979, he created "The Bloody Garden" based on a script by Henri Filippini for Pilote, then published it as an album with Dargaud. He then created "Nicéphore Vaucanson" for Okapi. From 1987 onwards, Wininger, who is also a children's illustrator, dedicated himself to adapting numerous novels for "Je Bouquine." He illustrated works by Oscar Wilde, Conan Doyle, Calvino, Carroll, Balzac, Faulkner, Shelley, Stevenson, Saint-Exupéry, Du Maurier, Charlotte Brontë, and others.
