This very nice framed original scratchboard wildlife art is in excellent condition. It has a clean image with no bends or tears. The artwork was done on regular scratchboard (ink overlay on clay and paper). There are some very minor accidental scratches in unobtrusive areas, nearly invisible as shown in the detailed photo.

Scratchboard art is created by scratching through a layer of black ink-covered clay with engraving tools, exposing white lines.

Very fine lines and striking contrast can be created, requiring high skill and patience.

This original scratchboard art depicting a bald eagle and a bass in real life action was created by Kathleen Yates, a well-known northern Kentucky artist, in or before 1979. It has been matted and framed in a solid wood frame, ready to hang.
