He published in Charlie Hebdo and Circus ("Victor Billetdoux"). In 1979, he created "The Bloody Garden" based on a script by Henri Filippini for Pilote, and then in a comic book by Dargaud.
He then created "Nicéphore Vaucanson" for Okapi. Starting in 1987, Wininger, who is also a children's book illustrator, devoted himself to adapting numerous novels for "Je Bouquine". He illustrated novels by Oscar Wilde, Conan Doyle, Calvino, Carrol, Balzac, Faulkner, Shelley, Stevenson, Saint-Exupéry, Du Maurier, Charlotte Brontë, etc.
