Pierre Wininger, born in 1950, started in comics in 1976. He published in Charlie Hebdo and Circus ("Victor Billetdoux"). In 1979, he created "Le Jardin Sanglant" with a scenario by Henri Filippini for Pilote, then as an album with Dargaud. He then created "Nicéphore Vaucanson" for Okapi. From 1987, Wininger, who is also a children's book illustrator, dedicated himself to adapting many novels for "Je Bouquine".
He illustrated novels by Oscar Wilde, Conan Doyle, Calvino, Carrol, Balzac, Falkner, Shelley, Stevenson, Saint-Exupéry, Du Maurier, Charlotte Brontë, etc.
